These Mishka skate decks are going to be VERY popular. I can tell. They should invent a new skate trick for these, called “Eye-balling It”.
I think Mishka is probably the smartest of the “lifestyle” streetwear brands. One, because they actually represent lifestyle, meaning they aren’t just aiming at one demographic. In addition, they have provided a home for a lot of artists that may not have found a home elsewhere. They also have a furious following. And lastly, they BLOG every day. And not short pieces, like mine. They really write a lot. All of this adds up to a strong brand. I’ve also known Greg forever. Good to see it grow to this point. Not always interested in everything they do, but the grustle is in tact, and they even supported me, when I dropped my last mix.

I’ve known the @BoundlessNY dudes for a long time. Sorry to see their store closing, but I know they will keep moving on to other great ventures.

Boundless NY to close Brooklyn storefront, the company still plans to make its designs available through the online venue.
“It’s a new day for us at Boundless as we have decided to close our Brooklyn store front. This was a very hard decision to come to but I do know that it is the right one for us. The brand needs to flap its wings and move on to greener pastures.
We will be putting more focus on the lifestyle, clothing and music side of the Boundless brand. We will also be revamping our website and it will be re-launching this spring. Thanks everybody for all your support through the years. We are Boundless!
We have decided to cancel our fall delivery, as we are not fully ready to put it out and sell it as envisioned. This is a very important delivery for us as it is our best work to date. As the store is closing, we will not be delivering our fall line; instead we will be preparing for 2012 and will be showcasing and selling our summer 2012 collection very soon. Watch as there will be more to come.”

The Hue is a site I’ve been drawn more and more to lately. This feature with Bobby Hundreds struck a nerve with me. Especially the part when he’s talking about blogging, and how so many people started them, and then fell off on updating. I’m not trying to let that happen here, ‘cause I love writing. This new outlet has been one of the best things that happened to me this year. And it’s a pretty sick year already…
